Green Motion Leicester helps local primary school go green

Green Motion’s Leicester branch has been supporting a local primary school in its efforts to be more sustainable. Abbey Mead Primary Academy in Leicester has been encouraging pupils to cycle to school and educating classes on the importance of recycling, along with starting up their ‘Eco Warriors’ club.

Inspired by the school’s endeavours to become more sustainable, the Leicester Green Motion branch donated £2,100 to cover the cost of new bike sheds and recycling facilities to help them on their eco journey.

Following this initial financial boost, the branch plans to continue to support Abbey Mead Primary Academy including by having Green Motion employees volunteer to supervise environmental initiatives, such as the school's ‘Eco Warriors’ club.

Last year, Green Motion UK proudly announced its carbon neutral status making it the only carbon neutral car rental company in the UK. As a company, Green Motion takes its commitment to the environment seriously and is proud not only to support initiatives like those at Abbey Mead Primary Academy but also at car hire branches.

Each Green Motion branch uses low energy lighting, recycling units, environmentally friendly cleaning and of course fleets inclusive of low emission vehicles. Alongside this, every branch’s customer office is fitted using renewable materials from ethical, environmental suppliers. In addition, recycled stationery is used for all correspondence.

Green Motion also invites all its car rental customers to make an optional small donation to completely offset their car rental. Currently, all donations collected go towards projects that are helping to reduce deforestation in the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil.
