Why do you need a car seat?

Not only does a car seat make the journey more comfortable for a child, it’s required by law in some countries. You should refer to the official Gov.uk information page for the official guidance on car seat law in the UK. It’s important to review this information to make sure you are getting the right kind of safety seat based on a child’s age, height and/ or weight.

Why hire a car seat?

If you’re travelling to the UK from abroad, you may need to hire a car seat to comply with UK laws. Hiring a seat is likely to be much more cost effective than buying one just for the duration of your trip. By hiring you can also ensure your car seat complies with the law around which car seats are EU-approved.

Travelling with your own baby seat or booster seat can be a little cumbersome, especially if you have more than one to carry. However, many airlines will allow you to check in your child seat as luggage for free (but it’s worth checking with each airline before you fly if you do intend to take your own).

Ultimately hiring a car seat can be a much easier option; simply picking up and returning your car seat with your rental car means you don’t have to think about it for the rest of your trip.
