With the Coronavirus (COVID-19) being a topic of concern across the globe, Green Motion International have put together some guidance about international travel, along with an overview of the current situation.
Included within this article are all of the precautionary measures that have been implemented across all Green Motion rental stations as well as our advice regarding hiring a vehicle during this period.
Can I travel abroad?
Travel into and from areas of China, South Korea and Northern Italy are currently restricted due to the virus, with expectations that further country borders may be closed. However, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) have not yet advised against travel into any other country.
Despite this, there have been several disruptions to air travel including British Airways and Ryanair announcing the reduction and cancellation of hundreds of flights throughout March. To check whether your travel plans are affected, please refer to the website of the airline that you booked with for updates.
Can I still hire with Green Motion?
Yes! It is being suggested that people should avoid using public transport when unnecessary to stop the spread of the virus, this offers shared or individual car hire as the ideal and much safer alternative.
All of our vehicles are valeted at the beginning and end of each rental and are being disinfected as an addition to this process. You can see what other precautions we have taken below.
