Abolition of driving licence counterpart runs smoothly for renters

Official correspondence from the BRVLA has shown that the abolition of the driving licence counterpart ran smoothly for most vehicle renters and their customers.

Although some reported an initially erratic online service when attempting to redeem customers; driver licence verification codes, many stated that the past week has been ‘relatively calm’.

This has been put down to a successful pre-briefing process, in which customers were asked to arrive with codes and any other necessary documentation at the ready. The abolition has also been widely discussed in national and local press, and so customers have long been aware that changes would affect their vehicle rental process.

Green Motion franchises have found the process to be simple, and have benefited from customers visiting the website beforehand to find out about what documentation they need to present.

All Green Motion customers are asked to bring their driving licence, ID and National Insurance number when collecting a vehicle.
