Billionaire Tycoon Promises London Electric Car Sharing Scheme

A billionaire tycoon has promised the city of London an electric car sharing scheme which could revolutionize the city centre’s traffic problems. The prototype is planned to come to fruition in March 2015, and would allow participants to hire electric cars between the designated parking points in the city - even offering a payment method using your smart phone. So far around 100 parking points have been planned, however it has been estimated that almost 3000 could be up and running, once the plan has taken off.

Paris inhabitants are already avid users of the scheme, totaling around 10,000 daily rentals and 43,000 subscribers. This has massively boosted the electric car economy in Paris, with more and more people looking to make the change. Considering it has worked so well in the major city, it’s no wonder that other top cities are looking to make the change.

The man behind the scheme, Vincent Bollore stated “We believe it could be equally successful in London, offering people a convenient and low-cost form of environmentally friendly transport.”

The major of London has backed the scheme enthusiastically, and expressed his approval - he is hoping that the new plan that be beneficial, in drastically reduce the amount of air pollution London is currently outputting.

It’s great to see that people are encouraging changes to the way we travel and our overall green footprint, and if all the big cities make small consistent changes like has already happened in London and Paris - then eventually we can work our way towards a greener future.
