At Green Motion, we understand that things change. What your situation is when you book your car hire might be completely different a few weeks or months down the line. You might want to add an additional driver, extend the length of your trip or cancel your car hire altogether.

Never the less, once your booking has been made you might think that that’s it, there’s no going back. In truth, there’s plenty you can change. To help, this post will answer some of the most popular changes our customers want to make to their car hire orders.

Cancelling your car hire

Maybe you’ve decided not to take that holiday or you’ve decided to use another mode of transport. These things happen. But don’t worry, at Green Motion we make things easy for you - even if you would like to cancel your car hire reservation.

To avoid paying the full amount of your car hire fee, cancellation of your reservation must be made in writing, fax or email at least 24 hours prior to the start of your rental. For fully pre-paid reservations made online, the amount due for cancellations will be calculated depending on the timeframe in which it is cancelled:

• 7 or more days before start date: £15
• 3-6 days before start date: 50% of car hire fee
• 2 days before start date: 75% of car hire fee
• 0-1 days before start date: 100% of car hire fee

Extending car hire

Fancy adding a few extra days to your holiday or think you’ll be staying longer than you expected for business? No problem, get in touch with the branch that you hired from and they will be able to run through your options.

Where the branch agrees to extend the hire, the rental will be charged at the time of the enquiry which may be more or less than the original booking rate. Please bear in mind that it may not always be possible to extend the hire. The more notice you give, the more likely it will be possible.

Adding a driver/changing driver
