Green Motion win pair of awards

Our customers know how important being environmentally friendly is to our business – that’s why we invest in the latest low emission vehicles, offset our carbon emissions to projects in the Amazon Rainforest and abide by our own environmental policies ensuring our effects on the planet are kept to a minimum.

With the help of you (our equally as environmentally-focused customers), we are able to play an important part in helping to reduce CO2 emissions. It’s now over ten years since we first began championing low-emission vehicles in the UK. In that time we have grown and are now able to provide our electric, hybrid and low-emission vehicles from over 20 branches in the UK. 

These ongoing efforts to minimise the environmental impact of road travel have recently been acknowledged with two separate awards!

Green Tourism Award

Green Tourism is the largest sustainable certification programme in the world and present awards to sustainable businesses who work to reduce their impact on the environment. We were thrilled to recently become the first car rental company in the UK to achieve a bronze grading.

To achieve the award, our head office was visited by a qualified assessor to be graded against a set of criteria. The assessor was impressed with our efforts and awarded us a bronze grading.

Lisa Wilson, Green Tourism assessor said: "Green Motion has done an excellent job in achieving a Bronze Green Tourism award following on from their first Green Check call. Good practice includes an in-house recycling policy, a head office fleet of low carbon, hybrid and electric vehicles, and a carbon offsetting programme.”

Green Apple Award

The Green Apple Awards is an annual event that celebrates all things green in business and local and national governments. The 2018 award ceremony was held in the Houses of Parliament and Green Motion picked up the award for Environmental Best Practice within the transport sector.

It’s the third year that we have been presented the award and demonstrates our commitment to improving environmental efforts in the transport industry. Judges awarded Green Motion the award based on the environmental success of their ongoing CO2 emission reduction project.
