Over 20 charging points added to Liverpool

The Liverpool area is promoting the use of electric vehicles by implementing 28 new charging points in the region. The plans aim to decrease the carbon footprint left by both the public and local authorities.

Half of the charging points will be made for public use, at locations such as railway stations, hospitals and the ferry terminal. They will benefit residents in Liverpool North and South, Halton, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral.

The remaining 14 will be placed at important points for local authorities, such as council buildings and NHS depots.

Evolt charging points were selected by the Merseyside city after a full tender process.

Amy Coulson, Programme Development Officer at Merseytravel, commissioned the installations. She commented “The introduction of these charging points’ sets out our commitment to promoting the use of EVs across the region. This includes installing a charging network for an even greater public take up of environmentally friendly transport.”
