The last 12 months, have been life changing for everyone across the UK. Nobody could have predicted the lifestyle that we would adopt to. Terms like ‘social distancing’, ‘lockdown’ ‘PCR test’ were so alien 12 months ago, whereas it has become the new norm these days. But not for much longer. The Government has unveiled the plan to end England restrictions, it is light at the end of the tunnel, after these gruesome and dreary 12 months.
But what does this mean for the eager ‘holidayer’. The roadmap outlines 4 crucial stages over the next 4 months, although there is a stipulation that these stages will be driven by data and not dates. Ultimately, if everything continues improving, we should see the return to ‘normal’ by 21 June. This is great news, and very well waited for, however, we do have to bear in mind, that the UK is currently one of the world leaders in the vaccination programme, and some of the popular holiday destination countries, might be behind their programmes, which would ultimately mean having some restrictions in place at certain destinations. There is still uncertainty around foreign travel, but what is certain, there’s a new holiday opportunity - staycations.
We’ll finally be able to enjoy the British summer, and not just in our gardens, but we’ll be able to travel across the UK, and enjoy the best of British this year.
