Citroen Relay Panel Van LWB

The Citroen Relay panel van is a handy and practical van. You’d expect that the most efficient vehicles are the more modern but the Relay bucks this trend. Thanks to a lightweight and a 2.0-litre BlueHDI engine, the latest model of the van which was released in 2016 claims an impressive 45.6mpg.

VW Crafter

The latest model of the VW Crafter has a stop-start system fitted that brings a 15% improvement in fuel economy over its predecessor. Despite the improvement, the van is only capable of reaching around 38mpg, slightly lower than others listed. The van makes our list because of the engines are very clean in terms of harmful emissions they emit.

A list of vans wouldn’t be complete without the Ford Transit. The highest selling van in the UK has an impressive fuel economy of 42.2mpg. The Transit has become a household name in Britain and newer models are impressively fuel efficient. The latest range is powered by Ford’s advanced 2.0-litre EcoBlue engines.
